How this book works for you

There are many hundreds of books on Bridge written by players of undoubted standards, and very fine reading some of them are too.

This booklet is not for reading cover to cover. It is simply an invaluable learner's reference book designed for constant use at the table. When opened up, it lies neatly on top of your scorecard giving you quick answers to the everyday problems of bidding and leading. When you start to play in more advanced company, you can refer to the booklet at the end of the hand, or to back you up in the post-mortem.

Students find that they can answer many of their problems without consulting the sometimes overstretched tutor.

Constant use will bring familiarity with the contents. By the time you have referred to each page a dozen times or so, you should be able to lend the booklets to someone whose need is greater than yours as you set off on your lifetime of enjoyment of Bridge.

As you can see from the contents page illustrated above, you can go directly from the situation you find yourself in to the page with the right information. The book is designed with a wire wrap spiral type binding so that it lies flat no matter which page you select.so it is really easy for you to get to the right page. As you'll see in a moment, the page itself has exactly the right information in a very quick to absorb fashion.

Then follows some easliy used guidance as to how you select from your options.

Having assessed your situation, you now have to choose which of your five options you will select. Each of the options is presented allowing you to decide the correct response in a matter of seconds.

Each time you follow this route you will be consolidating the learning from your course until the time comes when you are confident to make the decision yourself.
