BOOK REVIEW by Phillip Alder
The Bridge Learner's Table-Side Reference by Christopher Martin.
The author has produced a small wallet with 16 double-sided pages held in plastic covers. The idea is to keep it on the table by the side of someone learning to play bridge. When they are not sure what to do, they refer to the relevant page and obtain simple advice to help solve the problem. There is also a scoring table at the back.
It seems to me that it is an excellent aid for beginners and I would recommend that any bridge teachers reading this would do well to buy one. If they then feel that it would benefit their pupils, a bulk purchase at a discount price can be arranged directly with Mr. Martin.
